HISTORY

This section contains some personal info so you can understand where we have been. Christie and I were raised Roman Catholic. In 1975 we both repented of our sins and asked Jesus to become our Lord and Savior. We left several thriving businesses behind and answered the call to ministry.

Our first stop was bible school. I graduated from SAGC in Waxahachie in 1983. I then received a masters degree from Dallas Baptist University. During our schooling, I served two churches in the Dallas area. Upon graduation, I answered a call to pastor in the New Orleans area, where I served until May of 1997.

For the next two months I sought the Lord in prayer and allowed Him to examine my efforts of the last 15 years. This time of prayer and study was painfully rewarding as the Lord changed me in many areas. I became convinced that the churches I had served and even influenced greatly through my leadership in many ways did not reflect the New Testament churches. The early church had Believers meetings, we did not. They worshipped together, adults and children, we did not. They celebrated the Lord's Supper as oft as they met, we did not. They had intimacy and community, we did not. They had biblically qualified elders, we did not. They exercised biblical discipline, we did not. These are just a few of the areas that the Lord dealt with me about and brought me to a place of repentance and change. Out of that time of prayer and repentance, Fellowship of Believers was born. Using the radio program as a platform to teach these doctrines, I discovered a large number of like minded believers who were starving for fellowship and teaching.
